The Robostormers entered RoboCup Junior for the first time this year with our largest team of seven. The event was held in Dunedin on Saturday 23rd June 2018. We entered two events, RoboCup Rescue Senior was headed by Pearce and Tannin who discovered some tough competition by veteran teams from the local Dunedin schools.
Our soccer team was made up of Jackson, Monique, Noah and Tom and we discovered there were only three teams entered on the day so a place was guaranteed. After some technical hiccups during the first few rounds some help with coding from one of the other teams was greatly appreciated. Our robots sprung to life in the final round scoring goals and holding the lead until some late goals by team Under Maintenance saw then take the final first place trophy.
